Is it possible to let them go?
I know many people have been there. They have to sell off a couple of their normals or hets to make room a few new morph additions, or to shrink their collection, didn't plan onto the breeding program, needed a couple bucks, etc,.for whatever reason. I'm there now. My question is, how do you do it? It's very hard to part with any, especially when your collection is small, like 14, and you get attached to each individual.....even name them.(yes, all my snakes have names) But, I have to. I'm having a difficult time of it, especially considering some have been with me for .....five years . Is there anyone out there who's been in this situation? What did you do to make it easier on yourself, and cope with the fact?

Re: Is it possible to let them go?
If it is absolutely necessary and because of financial constraints, it is best to let them go before you let them suffer. I have not let any of mines go yet but that would be my reasoning. I planned on trading some of my balls a while back to get new morphs and I decided to keep them and the new morphs.
Premises:
Dangerous animals shall be banned.
Ball Pythons are not dangerous.
Conclusion:
Therefore, Ball Pythons shall not be banned.

Re: Is it possible to let them go?
It is always hard, even for babies that I hatch out.
But I take solace in the fact that the people I sell to or give to can come back to me with any questions, and that I try to educate them as much as I can about proper husbandry and care before they take their new baby home.
Knowing that the person taking them knows how to take care of them makes me feel much better.
But its always hard. Attachments happen.

Re: Is it possible to let them go?
I guess I am just resilient. All my snakes have names...but I got them originally to build a business, and I always keep in mind that I need to be flexible in that respect. Doesn't mean I am not fond of them. I just do my best to make sure they go to good homes. After all, they do not care if they are in my rack or someone else's.
