    Re: Got my first burm

He/she won't be a "little one" for long... And I would get the gender checked too. Females get much bigger than the males, so it would be nice to know if you're dealing with an exceptionally large guy, or a gigunda female. If you've already had expoerience with the other guys, a burm should be no sweat for you. And the best tip I could give you is buy everything big.....including the pooper scooper...

Don't let a rat clean your beard before handling a burm...

    It's not pretty...

Handle him as much as possible whilst he is young so he gets used to you. I always feed my big snakes out of there viv in a large feed box, this is so when i go into there viv i dont get a feeding response. They know they only get fed in there box so no 15ft strikes as i change the water!

Awww! We do need pics! Congrats on the new addition to your collection. He's a giant, so it'll be a lot more work, hahaha.

    Re: Got my first burm

spend all the time you can with him or her before he/she gets bigger. I carried my burm in a little basket around the house with me while I did my household things.... he was with me constantly everyday for about 3 years. He was my first snake ever, so I knew he would get big and if he was going to grow that big, I wanted to study his behaviors as much as I could.
