Thermometers?
Hello, I guess I'll introduce myself here. Travis what's up. Ok now that that's out of the way I'm new to snakes although I've always admired from a far, See I live with my parents while I finish up school and they are both scared of snakes
Very silly but they have not allowed a snake for years, but now my dad is cool with it and my mom is almost there a few more weeks and I'm almost sure I'll have a snake. So my question is which thermometer and humidity gage will give me accurate readings, is the ZooMed or the reptile one's at like Petco for instance okay? Or should I be looking else where.
I'm getting an electronic thermometer and plastic humidity gage. Any info would be great I'm new so lot's of info is good. Oh this is for a B.P.

Re: Thermometers?
Welcome to BP.net, and congrats on [almost] getting your new snake!
Whatever you do, stay away from the circular temp/humidity gauges! I've had some of those that are over 20* off! Your best bet is a digital thermometer with a probe. They sell ZooMed-style ones at PetCo, but you'll save yourself $20 by going to Walmart and buying the AcuRite brand digital thermometer with a probe. It has two temp readings; one on the actual box (to be placed on the cool side of the enclosure), one from the probe (to be placed underneath the hide area / on the warm end). It also measures humidity.
I've had the best luck with the AcuRite brand, but I know there are a bunch of them.
Anything along the lines of this will work.

Good luck and have fun! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
