Does this look like the "ovulation tail suck" to you?
Well, I went to feed my big normal female a rat today, and she totally refused. The only time she has ever refused for me was when she was gravid last year. At that time I didn't know there was such as thing as an "ovulation tail suck." So, after she refused her meal for a half an hour I turned her over, and her vent area looks more concave than usual. She is such a large snake, that it is really hard to tell if she has a bulge in her belly. She has bred with a male six times over the past couple of months, so I am expecting that she will become gravid again. But I am wondering if you guys think this looks like the "tail suck" thing they are supposed to get?

So, is what you're saying that my snake will probably fast for several weeks before she actually ovulates? I totally missed her ovulation last year, and I wasn't sure if it's because she is normally so chubby or because I just wasn't looking when it happened. I can't remember exactly how long she fasted but I think it was well over 2 months. Is that typical?
