    Introductions

Ok well i just wanted to introduce my self to this thread So a little about me..

My names Cj and im 14.
I love snakes but as of right now i own none but i do own a Mali uromastyx.
At first i started out want a corn snake i thought they were cool and love the
morphs witch i still do. BUT after seeing a ball python at a pet store getting
some sand for my mali i fell in LOVE.

So i did some research on these little critters and found out there SUPA! expsensive for a cool morph compared to a corn witch is ok cause even though a Panda Pied or Black eye luestic is cool i dont have 3,500 So anyway i'm still debating bettween my self on a ball python but i thought i'd give both a chance

So what are your guys reasons for having ball pythons and can you guys give any pros and cons of these little guys. I also heard that they are really Picky eaters how do you guys cope with that? I just wanted to say hi and

Ps. ill proably end up getting a ball python. i think they are a little bigger but how would guys explain them in girth i know most will proably reach 5ft? but so corn TO GET BACK ON TOPIC just how big of round do they get and how much do they weigh in pounds(lbs) perferably (still have to convice my mom more...)

    Re: Introductions

    Welcome to the forum.

Best thing to do is have a look through the pictures forum and have a look through the old picture posts for sizes.

After that do ALOT of research so you know everything possible. Just reading through most of the threads on here will be pretty much all you need to know.

If you and your mum do decide to get a Ball Python then make sure you get the enclosure set up before you buy your pet. This can take up to a week to set this up properly and it will save you and your pet alot of stress and heartache.

Just remember if your on a tight budget then housing in plastic tubs is common practise on here and also can save you $$$ and they are alot easier to get the temperature and humidity in the tank spot on.

Make sure your mum knows that if any thing goes wrong with your pet medically vet fees will also be needed. Not that it happens often but just incase.

Feel free to post any questions you like but try to have a good read through and learn what you can yourself first.

    Regards

    Jim

    Re: Introductions

P.s I think BP's are WAAAYYY better then corn snakes. Very docile and only get to handlable size. Corn snake are way to skittish and dont really dig being handled in my experience.

And plus BP's are totaly better looking

    Re: Introductions

Definitely go with the BP. We have a friend that has a corn snake, and while they're pretty, it just isn't as interesting. We treat our two BP's like our cats. Out in the open, the hang out with us, stuff like that. They're curious and fun to watch, and so pretty. Let us know when you get your BP!
