    Pooping Question

My BP, has pooped every Tuesday for the past 3 weeks... Today (monday) it has released (urates?) however not the hard brown log stuff... Do they normally go together? Should I worry? I know he's not due to poop till tomorrow... but for the past 3 weeks the urates and the hard sh%t came out somewhat together... Any views about this?

    Best,

    Enyong

    Re: Pooping Question

That is nothing to worry about - the urine and urates are a totally different elimination. Don't panic if your snake doesn't poop every week like clock work - mine sometimes go weeks without pooping.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    Re: Pooping Question

No they do not have to release it all at the same time

I am actually surprised your snake is so regular. Most ball pythons will like to hold it all in for a month or more and then give you a nice big nasty present

I think the longest one of my snakes has gone without taking a poo was about..5 weeks.

So to answer your question, it is nothing to worry about. They go when they want to

To add to this question... if it's being underfed, will it need to poop?

Yes, but not nearly as often as a snake that is being properly fed.

    Re: Pooping Question

Most of mine regularly poo on a schedule....every Wednesday after some exercise. However I have had a couple skip a week. Typically on Tuesdays they have urine and urates.....and on Wednesday the poo. So no it doesn't have to happen together. And no...they are typically not regular...mine are just weird like that...lol.
