    ? about heating

we just built a 2x4 foot tank. i am going to cut holes on the top for a heat light. its plywood on all sides but the front. is there any other way to put heat into the tank? i am never had a cage like this. i cant see a under tank heater working. is my thinking right? its a little less then 1" plywood.

    any ideas

    thanks

In wooden cages, the best ways to heat are Radient heat panels and UTH pads. With a UTH, you drill a few ventilation holes where the pad will go, set the pad(s) in place, then lay vinyl flooring over the entire cage floor.

I have two BP cages using this method and they both work excellently. I also have a plywood system of corn snake cages that use UTHs and tile flooring, and that works great.
