Re: the war against humidity
A nice bowl of water or even a tub/bowl, what have you, that has a lid. Cut a hole in the top so the snake can get in/out and your set. Snakes like to soak.

Re: the war against humidity
I usually soak a (clean!) old towel or rag and drape it over one of the plastic hides, or cover the screen top of the tank with it. Putting it under the favorite hide works, too, but then they tend to leave their post-shed poop pile on it.

Re: the war against humidity
Depends on the enclosure really. I have a tank and a tub. With a glass tank covering 3/4 with plastic wrap or a wet towel really helps. I use a towel on mine. With plastic tubs I'm not sure. When I set mine up I had problems getting the humidity to come down to a reasonable level. I'm betting you have a tank so go with the towel.

Try a humid hide. Go get a small bag of cypress mulch bedding or coconut husk. Get it nice and moist in a bowl or one of those disposable gladware dishes. Put a couple inches of the bedding in it and put it on the warm side in the enclosure. Works like a charm. Most BPs will lay in it as soon as they discover it.

Re: the war against humidity
We would mist the tank a couple times a day when in shed. Now we will still mist maybe once a day in the rack. You can also take a wash cloth...wet it and actually put it on top of the hot hide. This will bring a ton of moisture into the tank or the rack. It works like a charm!! We also do what foschi stated with the moist hide...only we use spagnum moss.

Re: the war against humidity
We've won the war against low humidity during these cooler months when the heat lamp is going. Our BP's hide on the warm side is a round tortilla holder. On the flat top is a wet paper towel, folded to fit. I pour water on it every morning. Between that and the warmth beneath, condensation occurs on the roof inside of the hide.
Despite the Accurite humdity readings of 35-60, Patriot has had perfect, one-piece sheds all this time, so I'm assuming the humidity inside his hide is just right.
(Over on the cool side is a bowl with another wet paper towel in it.)

Re: the war against humidity
Humid hides I have read about are great for creating humidity.
Get a tupperware dish for 3 bucks at a supermarket. Cut a whole in it and line it with misted sphagnum moss. Misted about once a day. These create a nice coy humid place.
You can also put the water bowl over a UTH.
Though I think my cage might be to humid? I use a UTH on both sides. Cypress and a medium water bowl. And the front glass on my neodesha was fogged up.
Just one of the problems I am facing as a newbie snake owner. I am gonna have to bust my butt, to get temps/humidity in order. Need to pick up an accurite tomorrow. I already have a digital hand scanner for temps but nothing to gauge humidity
