Re: Ri q
If she's improved then the baytril is working. Antibiotics like Baytril and Amikacin are ide-range but don't encompass everything, if there was no improvement I would ask your vet to do a culture to see if that's the right one she should be on.
A month isn't a long time for them to be on antibiotics, so hang tight.
Watch and wait; a hapless creature has wandered in wake of my growing hunger. My oh my, don't you look tasty? Hey traveler, what do you know of wolves?
All that's scaly and reptilian, all that's furry and mammalian, all that swims in the sea, all that flies in the sky--I love each and every one of these precious creatures.

Re: Ri q
Just my opinion but if baytril doesnt take care of it and your husbandry is adaquate then i would take her to the vet and get a culture done before you treat with something else but like i said just my opinion

always when doing injections you do 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. Thier bodies cant handle meds non stop till they heal.
May need to try a new series with either more baytril if its working or Fortaz.
Also be sure your temps are up higher than normal to help kick in the immune system and their digestion of the meds

Re: Ri q
Your temps and humidity are the best thing for RI's, and in most cases that's all that is needed in order to get rid of it. Unless it is really set in and pretty sever. Then Baytril should get rid of it. Also some substrates can cause RI's and unless it is changed to some thing else the RI wont go away.

Temps and humidity will NOT cure a RI, meds are needed every time. They do not go away on their own just from raising the temps

Re: Ri q
i have been giving my snake injections for a long time, it was pretty bad so its taking a while to get rid of. but she is pretty much cleared up, just a lil pop once in a while in her nose. sometimes it takes a while. and if ur vet mentions it, oral baytril does nothing. i have tried it two times and she just got worse. good luck
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.

If it seems to be working, I'd just continue to do what you're doing and give it time.

Our experiences differ. I used oral baytril when I received a new addition with a RI and it did the trick just fine. The RI cleared up and disappeared sooner than expected.

Exp. may have been different, but in snakes especially ball pythons, oral meds dont do the job due to slow metabolisms.
