Fauna Classifieds
Anyone ever have trouble registering for that site. I register, then get deleted. I figured something got messed up so I do it again, samething. I email the dude and he says that he doesnt remember all the names that get deleted due to his security protocols. I figure its due to the IP address(i work in a Top secret facility and in another state from where I live) then I tell him, and register again. Well guess what.... it gets deleted again now Im getting pissed. I get an email this morning saying that I put in the full name spot "arrests"...thats BS because I didnt. he also says that if I want to play games go elsewhere. I have no reason to play any games with this guy or his site. I just want to buy a few animals, post some BOIs and on the forums. Even if i was playing Im not deep enough in the animal trade for many people to know who i am or care what I say. I dont breed, I just collect what I like. Has anyone else had issues with this. I almost want to say screw it but its a good site.

Re: Fauna Classifieds
If you want to discuss your frustrations and see if anyone has had similar experiences they'd like to share, that's fine. But we will not allow bashing of other forums. If that begins to happen, then we will lock this thread.
12. Links or text with the purpose of recruiting members to competing sites are not allowed. Linking to other sources for the purposes of sharing something unavailable at BP.net and/or for the purposes of promoting reasonable and appropriate discussion are allowed. However, links to other forums for the purposes of slamming the site, an individual, or other inflammatory action are not allowed.
Although there are no links posted, the bolded part is still applicable.

My apologies if you took it that way or it seemed that way. All I am trying to do is discuss my frustrations and ask about other experience. I didnt think I put anything negative about his site. Im just annoyed with the registration process is all, when I did nothing wrong. The thread can be locked if you think it will come to that. Again that was not my intentions again

Robin isn't saying anything you posted is wrong. It's fine. What she's doing is warning anyone who might participate that if they start bashing fauna for whatever reason, then the thread will have to be shut down.
I'm sorry you're having the struggles you are. All I can say is that sometimes the paranoia radar can get pretty sensitive for us who run forums...because there are a lot of people who get their jollies from playing games and trying to ruin things for everyone else. And I imagine that is even more extreme at Fauna because he has the BOI and all the lunatics that it draws in addition to the regular forum trolls. So...when some red flags pop up...it's very easy to just swat away what appears to be another troll. Unfortunately, doing so will inevitably mean that an innocent person will be turned away from time to time.
The only thing I know to suggest is that you write to him again and make every effort to be diplomatic and civil. Ask him how you might prove to him that you're a legitimate person interested in being a positive contribution to Fauna. Also, if you work at a top secret facility, I would suggest NOT signing up from there or even ever logging in from there. If you just sign up and log in from home, then your IP shouldn't be an issue. And I doubt any top secret facility would be particularly happy with their employees browsing random Internet sites on company time.

Re: Fauna Classifieds
I know that site has alot of issues with fraud and the owner has been trying to put in restrictions to keep that from happening as much as he can.
The first time I registered I tried to put in the state I was intending to move to in a month and it was denied because the state did not match the IP.
The registration is pretty particular that everything match and be pretty exact to what it is asking for. That may keep out a few honest people, but I cant say that I disagree with his precautions as it helps with fraud from my perspective.

Not true, Im free to do what I please on my lunch break. It just happened to be the first time I registered from work. All the rest of times were from home. I go to many sites like this one and others to get away from it all during the day (I mean honestly who doesnt?). My job makes it clear that it is ok to do such things in moderation as long as it is not abused and work is getting done. For instance if I was breeding I could not be attempting to sell my animals using company assests ie phones and internet.
I also did communicate with him through email and never attacked him or anything. I also understand all the scammers that attempt to get onto the site. I spent about 2 hours reading BOI threads last night and "WOW" the things some people do. I guess it was not even really worth venting because in the end there is nothing any one can do about it here but only the guys on the site lol. Its great site, I just wanted to be apart of it is all. Like I said earlier I didnt want to make waves, just more or less wondering if more had these issues and what the did to resolve the issue.

Ahhhh...gotcha. Well, I'm sorry it's worked out that way. If there was any way I could help, I would.

My apologies to you - it was meant to be a general warning in the thread and not directed specifically at you.

Re: Fauna Classifieds
What JLC said. Also, Rich is extremely busy keeping up on everything, so you might have tweaked the radar somehow inadvertantly, so he thinks you're just yanking his chain. When you explain everything via email, and keep it short and coherant using your name and what name you signed up under etc etc.. I'm sure it can be worked out.
It's a good site. I didn't have any trouble registering, but I've heard other people say there were issues, usually because of some small slip up they forgot to put in, or something was slightly off. Usually easily fixed once it's explained and fixed.

Re: Fauna Classifieds
I had a problem today trying to get the web page to load. I got the background, but nothing more. I went into my web browser and deleted my cookies for faunaclassifieds.com and logged on without an issue.
Strange, but fixable!
