Is this pre-shed belly or maybe a burn?

I haven't seen the "pink belly" yet on my snake, but when I got to work this morning he was on the cool side of his tank bathing himself (and dropping a deuce, I later found out), and his warm side was a little hotter than normal. I picked him up and when he wrapped around my hand and got settled I noticed a strange hue on his belly. I would like some help from the experts.... Is this pre-shed "pink belly" or is this maybe a burn of some sort? If it is a burn, how do I remedy it?

    THANKS!!!

*phew* thanks for your help! I feel better now. Better get my "hand time" in with him before he doesn't want me to touch him for a week

If your temps are correct, youd never need to worry about a burn.

    How are you controlling temps?

But I agree with the previous, looks preshed to me

uhhhhh ok? The consensus is definitely pre-shed so I'm sticking with that

Another question. Since I feed regularly on Friday, is it okay for me to feed my snake when they are about to go into shed? Or should I wait until the process is finished?

Learn to read each animal, some will eat in shed, some wont.

For the most part it seems that when my animals are DEEP in shed, they dont eat. Any other time there's a good chance they're eating

You said your temps got a bit higher than normal, what did they get to?

    I don't know

The only thing I have left to get is an accurate thermometer/hygrometer for the tank. It wasn't super hot, but it was probably mid 90's.

That brings up another question. I have seen two types of thermometers/hygrometers at my LPS. One is a digital one that measures both temp and humidity. It is $40. The other are two separate meters with needles instead of a digital readout. They are much cheaper ($16 for the pair). Are those bad to use? Should I spring for the more expensive one? Where should they be placed on the tank?

looks like a preshed, but I'd recheck the temps nonetheless.
