Wow.. moody lil miss tonight!
So i got my girl out today. weighted her, was impressed, shes gained 12g in a little over a week. Now up to a big ol 172g! Gave her a quick bath because she had some poop stuck to her.. the girl enjoys pooing in her cool hide. She seemed fine, happy as can be! Put her back in her tank and she curled up in a defensive coil. Out of nowhere she starts striking at me (i had the tank closed up by now thank goodness) she struck at me at least 5 times... one time whacking herself against the tank a bit hard. Moody little girl tonight!

Babies are sometimes snappy. Maybe she is hungry? What are you feeding her?

she got fed her first rat pup on Saturday. i know handling after feeding can be risky, but she is normally ok after the second day

Re: Wow.. moody lil miss tonight!
my spider female came after me last night and thought I was the rat I was holding I guess.. With her feeding response I don't think I'd want to get hit by her, she's just over 1200 grams. She freaks and wobbles at the smell of a rat so it's a little nerving.. Used the tub lid as a shield lol
This morning, my female mojave came at me.. she's only a whopping 200 grams, but I still don't think I want to get bit lol.

Maybe she was mad because she spent a long time getting ready and getting her poop applied just right and you came in and just washed it off. You didn't appreciate her effort...

My female mojave is only 150 grams, but she has a beast of a feeding response. I normally feed her last becuase she's a safe bet when it comes to eating, but by the time I slide out her tub she's right there waiting to strike.
