    Readers Digest

In the That's outrageous section in the April issue, the article is "Pets gone wild"
all about the dangerous Pythons among others, how they are taking over the Everglades and the killer pythons in FL that have been set loose by irresponsible owners. The article suggests going to the HUSU for information. Arrrggg Doesn't anyone care about the FACTS before publishing an article.

    Re: Readers Digest

HSUS obviously paid someone off. Think about it. Word is finally getting out about the HSUS. They have a class action lawsuit against them. They have been accused of selling mailing lists. They are being investigated by the IRS etc etc...

They need a new following. So why not target the middle aged and older group of people who read the readers digest? (not profiling anyone but it is mostly an older age bracket which reads the digest) People who would be easy to "brainwash".

Facts don't sell, fear sells. Make people think they are in danger of something, and they will tune in and watch, or buy and read, to find out how to avoid it.

It is preying on the survival instinct. Just look at much of the evening News. "Tonight: is this common household item going to KILL YOU? Keep watching, because after Sports Highlights we will tell you!"
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

    Re: Readers Digest

I was pretty bothered by the article as well... I was going to write to them to mention something about the fact that these were irresponsible owners, and just voice my opinion, however, I never did find the place on their website to write.

I was particularly bothered by the part that said something along the lines of "just b/c you don't know anyone with an exotic pet doesn't mean you are safe... these pets get loose and attack unsuspecting strangers all the time"

    Re: Readers Digest

I posted this on another thread.

    http://www.rd.com/government-waste-fraud/

This is the spot to tell Micheal Crowley what you think of his recent article(you should also be able to see the actual article there as well). Also you can use "contact us" to tell the edittors of the magazine to tell THEM what you think.

Sending off outraged comments might just show them that not every pet owner will roll over and die on the AR's command.
