I think i felt an egg!

So I was palping my female yesterday and I felt a hard spot it kept moving but was very tiny, then she started to bark at me so I put her down. but my question is...what does an egg feel like? hard little mass just a few mm long? I hope so, I only felt one though, but then again im new so I may have just missed the other butnow I have an eye out for eggs!

Re: I think i felt an egg!

An egg feels like a hard, egg shaped area in the side of the gecko just under the rib cage (and it is free moving, not connected to anything but doesn't move around very much). Usually by the time you can feel them they are about full size though and pretty much fill the vertical area in the side between the rib cage and the pelvis.

What you felt sounds kind of small--it might have just been some calcified waste as you can sometimes feel small bits of that in the stomach area. Was it in the side below the rib cage, or more toward the middle of the belly? If it causes your gecko to bark it is probably uncomfortable, so be careful not to palpate too hard.
