Odd Colored Snakes

I'm just curious.....These odd colored BP's that are bred...Do They have any more incidences of disease and abnormalities like warm blood pure breds animal do?

More than mammals? I'd say not. But then again, snakes are a lot less complicated than mammals and don't have to worry about things like hip displacement.

There are a couple of morph lines that have known genetic issues such as kinking and (apparent) neurological issues...but compared to the number of different morphs and combinations of morphs, I'd say the incidents of such issues are far, far less common than you see in mammals. For either though, I'd say the truly good breeders are the ones who take great care to minimize debilitating genetic faults.

Wobbly head and kinked tail are the only two things I can think of right now. Both are tied to a certain morph.

Then you've got the nervious owner syndrome. When a normal BP goes off feeding, the owner gets a little upset. When the owner of a $1000+ snake sees their snake go off feeding, they tend to get really nervous, really quickly. But that's a warm blooded mammal issue and not a snake issue.

I have seen personally, that the morphs tend to have a more difficult time fighting sickness, such as R.I's then the normals. As well as you can run into more problems from line breeding when you purchase some of the more rare morphs.
