how long can you keep a ball python out of its cage and can i bring my bp around to friends?

It will depend on the individual snake as far as how long you can keep it out of the enclosure before it gets stressed. If you want to show it to your friends, I would have them come over to your house and introduce the snake in 15-20 minute increments. You snake isn't going to recognize their scent as a non-threat at first. Be sure you educate your friends on proper handling and not to drop or throw the snake if it strikes...

would't advise takin ur royal to a friends as they are shy and easily stressed and would not like this.

i try not to have mine out more than 20 mins at a time and no more than once a day, then lettn them back 2 their hides 2 feel secure again.

i take mine out 2 show people tho as long as they are gentle and understandin of their shy nature and they are fine.

always remember that they are easily stressed and this could cause feeding and health problems.

people why do that are quite STUPID, its just to draw attention and then it hits news or comminity you have a killer snake, and a whole bunch of crap. not to kamacazi your post but please dont take your snake in public, if you must take it to your friends, do so in a pillow case and not around your neck in a car, not ot jump doen anyones throat

oo yea i would never bring out in public i dont see the point i was just thinking mostly family parties and friends. but i dont want to put stress on a snake

Maybe a boa, maybe a larger species of python like a Burmese or reticulated.

Probably stressed snakes. It's not in the snake's best interest to be walking around in public with the snake. Also, you can open yourself up to a law suit if for some reason the snake were to bite someone. You may also want to check your local laws. I know in many parts of the country, it's illegal to display a snake in public. Doubt that would happen, but it could. But all you need is someone with a snake phobia to get so scared from your snake that they call the police. Then all bets are off.

Keep your snake in your house, invite your friends over. When the snake becomes jittery, doesn't stay still, seems to always want to run away, then it's stressed. Put it back in it's enclosure.

It really depends on the animal. Some of my ball pythons are very easy going with large amounts of handling, and some will have none of it.

Every couple of months I will bring a snake or two with me to my studio. Everyone loves to see them and it gives me a great opportunity to teach people about these wonderful animals. I always bring a tub with a heat pad for them to sit in while I don't have them out.
