    Laying inverted after shed.

My girl just had a shed on March 4th, and I am hoping it was her pre-ovulation shed.

I just caught her laying semi-inverted around the water bowl last night. How soon after they do their pre-ovy shed do they start showing signs such as lumping or laying inverted??

    Here is a pic

    Thanks!!

It could be her Post Ovulation shed. Not every female has a pre ovy shed as my 2 gravid girls did not. Since shes shed i would be counting the days just encase that was her Post Ovy Shed.

Laying inverted is their way of situating things inside to get more comfortable.

*big smile* hehehe...oh that would make my day! I will definitely keep watch and figure out when she'd lay if it was post ovy. Thank you!

Def sounds like it, and the wrapping around the water bowl to cool off a little.

Below are dates from my albino female from last year if it helps.

    2/24/2009 Shed
    4/8/2009 "the lump"
    4/26/2009 Pre-lay shed
    5/30/2009 6 eggs laid
    07/27/2009 6 eggs hatched

Thank you for the time line! She's been back and forth between the middle and the cool side now. Normally find her in the middle instead of on the cool side, so hopefully that's a good sign. Just waitin to see an ovulation. It's already past when she should have layed if it was her pre-lay shed.

No no you still got ways to go. After they shed it takes 25-40 days before they lay their eggs. I know a buddy had a girl lay 100days after her POS.
My females laid on day 31 and 36.

If your still pairing her and shes locking then she hasnt ovulated yet.

I'm not still pairing her. It was a breeding loan and the person with the male ended up selling him. I'm waiting to make 100% sure she is or isn't gravid before I pair her with my butter male because she was paired with a Super Mocha and I'm afraid i won't be able to tell the difference between the Mocha-Pastels and Butter-Pastels.
