    Rejection

This weekend was the 5th pairing between my Pastel and Spider. Usually I get a lock within the first 12 hours. Nothing. Day 2, nothing. Day 3, nothing. What do you guys think?

BTW tonight is her scheduled feeding night. I'll let you know if she eats.

    Re: Rejection

I'm definitely not an expert, but a few of my males will stop breeding a female for a few days so I give him another quick break and when I re-introduce him I do so with another male. I let them do their little combat dance and then remove the other male. He typically will go back into his normal breeding cycles.

I've actually got a male yellow belly that combats my arm every time I put him in with another female. I've recorded 15 copulations on 3 girls from him alone.

So my guestimation would be that the males start to lose interest without some competition. Might sound stupid, but it seems to work for me.

    Re: Rejection

The male was interested because he followed her all around the tank. Its the female who is refusing. From what I have heard that is a good sign. I am posing the question for reassurance.

For some reason I can't edit...I did give him a week off when he shed. Last week was his 1st week back from shed. He was fine. Its definitely the female.
