    Finally, a good shed!

Actually, compared to his previous sheds, I'd even escalate "good" to great!

This is only Huggy's fourth shed since we brought him home. The last one was poor, and the first two were abject disasters - little scraps of snake skin confetti, snake soakings, and hours of time with a damp towel and gentle TLC.

Last night I saw him out in his tank, and knowing he'd be waiting for a shed I knew he wouldn't have come out unless he'd done it. But he didn't look like a scabby little snake covered in bits and pieces. I was confused. Pulled him out, and there were perhaps 4 scales on the tip of his tail that hasn't come off clean. Hooray!

I just wanted to share this with BP.net because a) all of the advice I'd received to help with his sheds I got from here, and b) it was just so exciting for us I wanted to share it with a group of people that would understand why it was exciting.

So a big thanks to everyone that ever contributed to any of the posts on this site about sheds!

    Ian.

Over time eventually you might catch them doing it, usually the better the humidity the quicker the task. Sometimes they can have it off in less than a minute!

Yes, it is a great relief to finally see proof that you've got the humidity nailed on right. I've had my youngin' for six months now, and JUST this last shed, she finally had a perfect one. Before that, it was two or three pieces, and before that, ugly scrappy messes.

Good job! Feels good, doesn't it?
