What fraternity/sorority are/were you in?

I know I saw one of these threads a long time ago but thought it would be cool to see it again. I'm sure we have a decent number of members who participated in greek life.

Has nothing to do with paying for friends. My college was free to join and we did community service to local communities weekly. Not to mention i also played baseball at the college as well. And i never lived in the house either as i rented my own apt while attending school.

Ha ... well played. I didn't join until my 3rd year though, so I joined the fraternity that my friends were already part of so that argument only half applies to me.

It's all about buying friends here at the U of I. It's almost as bad at high school clicks. This one...girl, was going to invite me to tailgate with her 'friends' but she wasn't sure if her 'friends' would allow it. I'm pretty sure the only reason she invited me is because I can buy alcohol. Too bad I don't buy for minors

Ya that's kind of the case up here at Valparaiso too ... except that freshman cannot pledge first semester. It really cuts down on people buying friends and they end up choosing the fraternity based on the friends they already have. I think its a better system.

Our house is just down the street from Phi Mu Alpha which is the music fraternity here at Valpo.
