Our local petsmart has rodent infestation

THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND CORPORATE ARE INVOLVED.
I work for a Pest Control company and judging by the looks of the rats, they are wild. Not some feeders or pets that escaped out of the back.

Every Petsmart or Petco or mom and pop shop will have rodent infestation if they store BAGS of dog and cat food. Rodents go after this stuff like it's candy. If you go into a store, look on the shelves, towards the back of the shelves. You will see where the bags have been chewed open by the little buggers.

Mostly true. I have to set traps 2 to 3 times per week, and we catch something about half the time. I have a big field behind my store too, which doesn't help.

I use live traps cause I'm a giant softy! lol
I use peanut butter, also margarine works pretty well. Haven't tried the Snickers, I'll give that a shot.

Wouldn't see why those types of stores wouldn't have an infestation. I guess some stuff just gets out on accident or someone accidentally lets them out. What is being done to the rodents that are caught?

Well they are saying that these animals are wild, and not caused by escaped petstore animals.
I'm assuming they're trying to exterminate them, as they do with most infestations of any type of pest.
Feed stores and pet stores all have rat infestations, it's not too much of a surprise.

Definitely will exterminate...wild rodents have a bevy of diseases. Wouldnt want the pets in the store to be exposed. I see they have installed rodent boxes and will have stocked them with baits. The rodent will ingest and bleed internally. The baits are an anti coagulant and since rodents can not regurgitate they will basically drown on their own fluids. not very pretty, but very necessary. There urine and fecal matter could get in foods that you buy your pet. Also saw a glue trap by the dead rat they showed....was kind of a small trap and Ive seen the larger rats walk around with them like they were flip flops.
