    Substrate vs paper towel?

I use paper towels and it seems to work fine, but I am wondering if there are any benefits of using a wood substrate. Does the wood act as some sort of "Kitty Litter" or do you just feel its cheaper? Paper towels hold good humidity for me and I think wood might be more of a pain. But with seeing many people using aspen or cypress I can't help but wonder if I'm missing something. Please tell me your thoughts

I don't really know if there is a benefit to using aspen or cypress, since that's what I've always used. I will say that it looks a lot nicer, if that's something important to you. I generally will start younger animals out on paper towels, and then upgrade them to aspen or cypress once they get a little larger. The one nice thing is that my snakes sometimes enjoy burrowing under the bedding. Seems like something they enjoy. Sorry if my reply isn't more helpful than saying that aspen and cypress looks better, and may be more fun for your snake .

    Regards,
    Josh

I've switched from Newspaper to Aspen soo many times... I'm currently using Aspen and I think I will stick to that (for now LOL). It looks a lot nicer and is a lot easier to clean.

I am currently using paper towels since I just got them to monitor them for two weeks, but I plan on making a change to Reptibark to help with humidity and appearance.
