    Feeding While shedding?

Just forgot my snake was shedding and pre-scented the tank... I heard once that it is bad to feed your snake while shedding, but after pre-scenting I felt bad and fed him a mouse. Did I screw up?

    Re: Feeding While shedding?

The reason some people don't offer while the snake is in shed is b/c many won't eat. I usually offer, and if they take it, great, if not, oh well and try again next week. I think only one of mine won't eat while in shed. It's not bad, but the snakes that are more shy tend to not eat if they are deep in blue.

    Re: Feeding While shedding?

There is nothing wrong with feeding while in the blue, if your snake will go for it go right ahead and feed them. Probably better to feed them after they clear up right before they shed. So, right after their eyes clear up feed them.

Helps stretch the skin, and helps them shed better.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I'm assuming "Blue" means their eyes have developed caps? Or they go foggy? He was like that last night, he didn't take the second one, but he ate the first one in five minutes...

yes their sight is foggy, but they have a good sense of smell and can hit the warm prey with out any trouble.
