    Super Garcia?

In 2001 I picked up an unusual looking small adult female ball python at a pet store. I tried to get her to breed for a few years with no success. She grew quite large but no eggs so I sent her out on a breeding loan and in 2007 Dan Garcia produced from her bred to an interesting looking dark import he had. About half the babies came out looking like mom. Since Dan was the one who proved her I called the morph Garcia. Some have commented that they look like the chocolate morph but I don't know if they are the same or not and my philosophy is that it’s much better to have two names for the same thing than one name for different things (for example woma).

I spent the last 2.5 years growing up what I thought was a female from that 07 clutch. Never could quite get to the female breeding size I wanted but tried breeding anyway only to see combat. Turns out that 07 Garcia is a male that I could have breed years ago if I only knew. So, starting in late February 2010 I finally know I have a male Garcia.

Here is a picture Marshall Van Thorre took of Garcia X Garcia. Hope it's not too late for the Garcia male to father some of the 2010 offspring for a shot at homozygous Garcia. If not, Marshall had a nice ivory pastel with her earlier in the breeding season so lots of nice possibilities.

    Re: Super Garcia?

Thanks. Hopefully we'll see a super to find out if it looks like a super chocolate or something new. Would also love to see a Pastel Yellowbelly Garcia. She's been producing big clutches so the ideal case could be a mixed paternity clutch with enough from each male to hit both odds.

Nice snake Randy. I may have one of those also. The pic is at least a year old and not the best but what's your opinion? What else have you worked that into?
