    06 Female

I have an 06 normal female. She is sitting at 1143g. These are her last feeding dates.

    2/22
    1/24
    12/27
    12/20

All other feeding days, she has refused food. Her last shed that I have recorded on 11/28 and she doesn't seem to be going into a shed cycle. I have one other problem feeder that has been feeding even less that finally ate today but when I tried Shane today, she refused the meal. She's not skinny and is gaining weight ever so slowly. 1073g on 11/24 and is 1143g today (give or take a poop).

The thing is all my ball pythons are currently in the same rack. Everyone else slamming down food with no problems, except the het pied male and this female. They are in the same tub (divided tub) but the female has been having feeding issues even before she got moved.

I'm trying to get her up to 1400g to breed her this season but I guess that might not happen any time soon.

    Re: 06 Female

My biggest girl Lilly (about 1200g +/-) is doing the same thing... She hasn't eaten since the begining of Dec, but she is slowly still gaining a touch of weight, so I just offer her food when I feed everyone else. It's frustrating, but I'm not sure there is much you can do about it... =/

Quite common during the breeding season. Just keep checking the weight so not to loose to much.

Try feeding her a large mouse.

    Re: 06 Female

I'll have to get to the store this weekend to get her a feeder. She's not losing weight...yet. I have an 07 that is way larger than her and and another 07 that is catching up fast. That sucks if she's fasting because of the breeding season because I want her to gain another 300g before I put a male in with her.

    Re: 06 Female

Don't sweat it. Very common during the winter months. She should pick back up by the end of this month. My 700 gram female ablino has done the same thing. She was hammering a ton of rodents, then she went into a shed and she hasn't eaten since then. I offered her rats, pups, mommy mice, large mice, she just doesn't want to eat. I always feed her first and if she doesn't take the bait (so to speak) within the hour, the food goes to another snake. Not a big deal. She's lost about 40 grams, so I'm not concerned.

    Good Luck!

    Re: 06 Female

Thanks! I guess I'm not that anxious to breed her. I already have two females breeding with my co-dom males so hopefully I'll be getting eggs from those two. The one I'm really hoping gains enough weight to breed later is my pinstripe. She's 800g right now so only 600g to gain. She's slamming one small rat a week. I can't wait till she hits 1400g.
