Weight gain ?
How much weight will a female gain while producing eggs?
Is it a noticeable ammount? like enough for me to weigh her like every day to see.

Re: Weight gain ?
well when my girl was holding she went from 45 grams to 55 grams if you lightly rub her belly you can feel eggs too but be SUPER CAREFUL if you do it I prefer the weight and you'll notice her getting larger in the stomach area as well

Re: Weight gain ?
Part of it depends on how much your female weighs to start with, how old she is, if she is finished growing, etc. The eggs themselves only weigh maybe 1-2 grams each when they are laid so you will have a few extra grams of egg weight in the week or so before your female lays (and you can measure actual weight loss after the eggs are laid). I've never used weight gain as a way to track whether or not my females are gravid or when they are going to lay, but as mentioned you can gently palpate for eggs. You will be able to feel the eggs once they have formed the hard shell around them--I don't recall off the top of my head exctly how many weeks in this is, but you can feel the eggs at least a week prior to them being laid.

Re: Weight gain ?
Like I said, you should be able to feel the eggs at least a week prior to them being laid, so probably about 3 weeks in. Once they are shelled and descend farther down in the abdomen (below the ribcage) to prepare for being laid is when you can feel them. Right before they are laid the eggs will descend even further, lined up one on top of the other in the pelvis and you might think they have already been laid because you don't feel them in the gecko's sides anymore if you don't realize what is happening.
Laying every 25 days is a little fast, but each female varies a little. Every 28 days has been a minimum for my girls, with 30-35 days or so being a more normal average (but I don't check lay boxes every single night, so the average isn't exact). They can also slow down toward the end of the season and/or when the temps start to drop.
