    Something hard

My blood hasnt pooped for about 3-5 months now. So the other day i was feeling near her ventral(?) area and i felt something rock hard. It feels like poop but way harder. i mean this this isn't squishy or anything.

What could this be and should i be worried?

    Re: Something hard

Anatomically speaking, ventral means the "anterior/front" of an animal (and dorsal means "posterior/back" of an animal). So ventral does mean the belly/bottom side of a snake, but I think you mean more specifically in the area of the vent?

Sorry for the vocab lesson. I'll let one of the pros answer your real question now.

    Re: Something hard

It is normal for bloods to not poop for a long time...and one day... DAMN a horse crapped in their cage .... no kidding...

The hard is probably the urate u are feeling I wouldn’t be too concerned, just keep an eye on him/her.

Have you tried soaking? Sometimes this will activate the poo/pee process
Always seems to work for me.

ambient is the same as my carpet 72-78. most of the time its in the lower 70's i know its not ideal but its very difficult to keep it warmer and my room. Her heat pad stays around 80-82.

    Re: Something hard

You should try and heat pad the whole cage if temps are that low.

Respiratory Infections in Bloods and Short Tails suck to deal with.

    Whats the humidity like?

    Re: Something hard

Yeah id say it's just a urate.

Sometimes too high of temps or too low humidity is said to dry them up so to speak and cause stuff like this.

But your humidity is good, the temps need bumped up still though.

How often are you giving fresh water?
