Question Should Our BPs Feel Warm or Cool?

Hey folks, I'm curious about this and am wondering what the norm is...

When I lift off the hide (over at the warm end), our BP itself sometimes feels warm and sometimes not. It rarely ever feels cold, though. What's normal for the actual snake itself?

I'm curious because the AccuRite reading maintains a steady 89-90 degrees of the substrate beneath, so why would the snake itself fluctuate so noticeably? (By noticeably, I'm referring to my hand at an average temp.)

It depends if they are sitting on the heat or not and it also depends on the temperature of your hands.

The temperature of your extremities vary up to like 20* or something crazy like that. If you have been outside or using the computer a lot, your hands might be very cold. When you wake up, your hands are generally close to your core temp.

If you have a temp gun, shoot the temp of the snake and the temp of your hand. Then you can see the difference

Ya one of those cold front days here in florida, I went to pull one of the BPs out and felt the inside of the tub extremely hot! So i took my gun and tested the temps, but the highest was 92~. Is not that it was hot, it was that the ambient temp was 50 and my hands were VERY cold when I stuck them inside the tub.
