Do you talk to your animals?

My family all think I've finally lost my mind. They'll all be watching TV in the livingroom and they'll hear me holding conversations with various animals in my bedroom. I might be asking the boa if she wants a bath to help out with her shed, or asking the blood if I could please check the temps really quick without getting tagged, or asking the beardie what he wants for lunch today or telling him he can't have any roaches until he finishes his collard greens.

I'm thinking my family might be right in saying that I'm insane.

Do any of you talk to your animals? What do you usually say?

But not out loud. I hold conversations with them in my head though.

(I once startled myself by talking out loud to them without realizing it and looked around and went "who said that?!?!? must be a mind reader!")
Watch and wait; a hapless creature has wandered in wake of my growing hunger. My oh my, don't you look tasty?
Hey traveler, what do you know of wolves?

All that's scaly and reptilian, all that's furry and mammalian, all that swims in the sea, all that flies in the sky--I love each and every one of these precious creatures.

I know they don't understand, but I'm 100% certain that the geckos recognize my voice. I tell them all sorts of things, really, from asking the leo if she wants some crickets to telling the crestie that she needs to be cute cause my GF is having a bad day, etc. They also occasionally get scolded for worrying us. I don't think you're insane, as long as you're not expecting them to talk back.
Mountain bikes are for slow people, and reptiles are far better pets than cats & dogs!

I have never and would never hold a coversation with any of my reptiles but I have said things like "Sorry" if I startle them or something, "Don't think about it", "Don't you bite me" or "Oh, be quite" when they are hissing.

    I don't really...
unless they do something like flip a water bowl 20 seconds after i clean out the cage... or poop right after i clean the cage...
And its usually me going "GOD DAMN IT (insert name here)!"

I'm not sure if that's talking to them... lol

Re: Do you talk to your animals?

Well.... I do the baby voice thing... well many different voices, depends on the feeling I'm trying to express. But this comes from having family dog ALWAYS since I was a kid. While they might not understand what we say, dogs can certainly understand the feelings we are trying to express, thus the baby voice..

Sometimes I will go to someone's house and play around with their dog and they'll be like "I didnt know my dog could do that!" and I would say something like "Do what?" To me is just normal behavior. LOL!

It is just hard to let go of habits
