    Meet Mr. Kane

For those of you that didn't see my other post about rescuing Kane i will tell ya!

My husband brought him home a little over a week ago.
He was a totally totally neglect snake! He was in a glass aquarium with just a paper towel. That's it! No heat, no water, nothing! She said he has been like that for about 2yrs. Not only that, But she has only fed him small mice once a week, sometimes once every 2 wks!
When my husband brought him home he was soo dehydrated. We let him soak in the tub for a little while and he just sat an drank! His skin is very very dry. And i think that his eyes look a little indented. Idk if that's how you describe it. But instead of popping out, they look like they pop in.
You can also see in a couple of the pictures his little spine poking out ;'[

So far he has ate a medium size rat like there was no tomorrow! I haven't handled him at all, but that is how i am with new snakes. I am always scared to hold them @ first. Idk i am just weird! But anyways the poor thing wont even stay in his hide. He wants to lay under his water bowl. But hey whatever works for him!

My question is.....How can i make his skin better? Or can i? Do i just have to wait for him to shed it off, and hopefully it will be better?

Anyways sorry for the long story....With out further ado....Meet Mister Kane

Its always good to here there a rescue story. On behalf of all the neglected and poorly kept reptiles, I say thank you!

As far as his skin/eye indents, keep his humidity and temps right and maybe provide a humid hide on the warmer end of his enclosure plus good meals then after a shed or two he should be good as new.

Bless you for taking him in. He will be so much happier and healthier with a devoted keeper. Good things to you and yours and thanks from me and the snakes!

Nice rescue! He will bring you many years of joy. Our Buddy is a rescue and he loves to sit in our laps and watch TV. His skin will improve over time with proper care and feeding, they amaze me as to how resilient they actually are! He will bounce back just fine.
