Can a normal produce a pastel if she came from a pastel?
My normal female came from a normal and pastel bred together. Can she produce a pastel if bred to a normal?

No. Pastel is a codominant trait which means only one gene is needed to show the pastel attribute. If your female doesn't look like a pastel, she doesn't have the gene.

Thanks! I have no idea about genes and mixing but I am going to a show this weekend and wanted to get her a mate. She is only 7 months old so it will be awhile before she is ready!

Since your girl is a normal, try getting her a co-dominant mate... then you have a 50/50 chance (per egg) of visual morphs in her first clutch. Some co-dom morphs to consider would be spider, pastel, mojave, lesser, and cinnamon - among others.
Here's a genetic calculator, which should help you figure things out... choose Ball Python under "species select," and "wildtyp" for normal. http://geneticcalculator.traxxtec.de/en/rechner.aspx

That is still debatable.... but that's another story.
Spiders are nice, just make sure to talk with the breeder about it beforehand, make sure it is eating okay, and that the wobble (which it WILL have) isn't a complete train wreck.
Good luck.

I am aware of the head wobble so I will be looking for that! I wouldn't mine a bumble bee too! I will just see what they got!
