    Can you believe...

These two were over 400g apart in size, just six months ago?? I got Julius the Mojave in September, when he was around 4-5 weeks old and weighed a mere 93g... at that time Toby the Pastel was probably 9-10 months old, and weighing in around 500g. Fast forward six months, and they're nearly the same size! Julius is a machine, and I swear I'm not powerfeeding him.

Thanks! And I know, it's totally crazy how fast he's growing... my other July '09 babies (spider & het albino) are fed on the same schedule, and they weigh around 400-500g now. Guess Julius is just a big boy, huh?

Btw, how do you all think Toby's color is holding up? I bought him at a reptile show (Cow Palace), and didn't know anything about pastels at the time... but it seems to me he's holding that yellow nicely.

Dang, Julius must be eager to get to the ladies!!

I think Toby looks awesome! Although, I've always thought he looks awesome with all that blushing going on. I love his hue of yellow though.

You'd think so, but he hasn't shown any interest yet (I introduced him to both ladies). We do live in San Francisco, so perhaps he's not into girls?

Thanks. I think he's gorgeous, but of course I'm a biased momma.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. On the other end of the spectrum, Toby is a total stud, and would probably lock with a cat if I let him... he's hooked up with Nerissa as we speak.

I'm still fairly new to snakes, so it surprised me! But like you, I wish the females would grow a little faster... particularly my het albino, who I'm planning to breed next season. I did figure out her food preference recently (live small rats), so hoping she'll start growing faster on that diet.
