cobra question?

hey all you hot owners. im a bp guy myself but i always look at the hot pics. you guy have i love the cobras and the yellow tiger ( i think thats the name) but n-e-ways how did yall get into the hots and is there a handling class or special ways you have learned not to get bit? also do you all take them out and mess with them or are the just sho pieces?

I learned by working at the Bronx zoo, a lot of people volunteer for zoo's or help other keepers so they learn how to handle the snakes with out getting bit. That being said, I have worked with them in controlled settings for medical reasons and general husbandry, I think they are beautiful animals who deserve a lot of respect. I personally don’t feel that they should be kept as pets (I don’t judge people who have them) they are a very dangerous animals and If you do get into make sure you are learning from people who know what they are doing.

people who keep venomous snakes don't take them out to mess with them, you only take them out when you have to. i started off with rear fanged snakes and then worked up to the stuff like cobras. i wouldnt recommend a cobra as a first venomous snake. find someone near you that works with venomous snakes already they can show you how to handle them.

ok thank you all i didn't mean to get smart but i never get answered on this question. I just love the way the cobras look but i will contact my local zoo and find local in virginia b/c ive just found out that we dont need a permit im not looking for one right now just wanted to know how to get the proper training for the future

When i got my first albino monocled cobra i watched videos and talked to some ppl to get the most i could. But you can never really learn form watching as its a diff situation facing the snake.


Experience and being cautions and NEVER USE HANDS EVER. I always had 2 hooks at all times and was never held for no reason but to clean the cage.

Their a species you admire but never forget they are dangerous. When ever i had to take my lil guy out i always had someone over encase something went wrong, which never did. Just keep in mind you can only learn so much, but first hand is your best friend
