Help , My ball python does something weird

I got this butter ball he's an 09 baby and is around 220grams , i've asked a couple breeders in my area what they think and they have no clue but said don't worry about it .


when ever i handle my butter any day any time doesnt mater when he will push out his vent , to get an idea it's like you're popping him . it comes out for a second or two then goes back in and he keeps doing this . some people said he's about to poo on you , thats not the case cause he does it after he poo's he does it everytime i handle him .

got any idea's why hes doing this?

Hmmmmm dont know, could it be constipated?? Not even sure if snakes get constipated or not....Anyway

thats what i though but no he pooped a couple of days ago ... i never herd or seen this before and same with all the breeders in my area , its so weird what he does , it doesnt come out all the way that you can see the hemi pins ( sorry it i spelt that wrong ) but it comes out enough that you notice it

Many times they do this as a sign that they are distressed, like if your freaking them out.. Then again it my be a parasite infection causing irritation..

Hi,

It's generally a nervous thing - they were right in as much as he probably is getting ready to poop or pee on you if he feels any more frightened or stressed.

The good news is it should happen less and less the more he trusts you and gets used to handling.

To help with that it might be a good idea to restrict handling slightly but that depends on how often you handle him at the moment and for how long each session?

oh really i didnt know that and yeah he hisses at me here and there i dont play with him much actually because of this reason so should i play with him more then ? i dandle him maybe once a week for when i do my cleaning

this is a sign he is stressed and hes about to MUSK.

He is either a flasher or is very nervous.

At that size they are still babies and can get freaked out real easy. He should get over it with time. At least he doesnt bite, thats what my nervous babies do.
