www.avast.com
Never have to worry again. Best antivirus out there IMO, even better then all the ones you have to pay for.

I agree 100% with Avast. The best in my opinion and free also. The ones you pay money for can actually be a pill to get off you system. DO NOT buy Norton, it's take a semi-advanced person to get it off you system. It has to be removed in safe mode and all kinds of stuff. Avast. Avast. Avast.

Re: Anyone know of free antivirus programs?
Avast is good.
Kaspersky and NOD32 are better, but you have to pay.
The best thing about NOD32 is it's extremely low impact on system resources. There are more comprehensive protection programs out there with a scope that is larger than what you're at risk from via web browsers, but for keeping you safe from viruses, trojans, and the like, NOD32 is pretty bulletproof. The larger-scope antivirus programs almost always hog so many resources that you experience significant performance issues.

only $30 for a year, we run it at work and it has saved us more than anything else. You can install it on 5 PCs too, low system resources, etc. The above advice and recommendations are all good to, but if you want my personal opinion, I would go with F-Prot.
