Change of scenery slow down breeding?

I just got a 900g male in yesterday I would like to start breeding asap. He was shipped to me, so I'm wondering how long it might take for him to be ready? Is it likely that the "change in scenery" will slow down his breeding right now, or will most males breed readily after moving to a new home? Is there a certain amount of time I should give him before introducing him to the girls (not including quarantine)?

I would worry about QT, not the change in scenery. I'm not 100% sure, but I would think that this would have less to do with males than females. I've never heard of a male that won't breed due to moving, but also don't have any personal experience

I agree. Make sure you quarantine him. You wouldn't want to infect your collection just to get a quick start on breeding.

I understand this. He came from a VERY reliable source but I know you can never be 100% sure, so he is in quarantine. Just wondering if moving males around during breeding season slows them down like I've heard it does to females.

There is only one way to find out...trying pairing him after QT. If he's ready he'll get busy if not there is always next year.

Of course, but has anyone had any experience with this situation? How do most males react?

I have just had one male breeding six females(like a champ) so far this year...and this will be his tag team partner...wanna give him a good rest and get this new guy on the girls.
