Hamburg Show Scare !!!
Ok so last month I went to my first show in Reading PA I heard there was more space then Hamburg but less vendors. So now Hamburg is next week but and Im skeptical on going because I have heard stories of 2 hour lines to get in, people driving there not finding parking and driving home. We are early birds so we would most likely be getting there at 9 when their open. Its about an hour and a half ride for me. So fill me in, getting there at 9am will I be waiting in 2 hour lines and find no parking. Should I just wait til the next Reading show March 20th ??????????

I would try to get there 45 minutes early. The line to get inside starts forming at about 8 or so. so you are better off getting there before it starts!!

HAHAHAH!!! That is why I don't go there anymore. Plus forget it during the summer unless you are trying to shed a few pounds. No air wall to wall people and the lights make it unenjoyable.

Re: Hamburg Show Scare !!!
Dang! I guess depending on what you were looking for and how bad you wanted it, you could always register as a vendor and pay the fees just to get a head start on your shopping. Oh! don't forget to take a cooler of sodas to sell so you actually be vending something...
Some of those people look awfully hot out there. You could buy a bunch of cheap umbrellas and sell them as shade... for a profit of course...

Re: Hamburg Show Scare !!!
dang in a way I hope the cambridge MD show got a line like that lol. Since it the first one it may create enough interest to allow for more show dates to be added, other wise looking at either a 2+hour trip to Harve de Grace or online buying in the future. I doubt that I will make many more trips to Harve de grace show with the newer truck it does not get as good milage as my old truck so I spend more on fuel than the single 40 bucks it be more like 40 each way but I guess when you get a 2 and half ton truck that can seat 5 people and automatice verus a 4cyc stick and 2 seater you get a difference in milage.
my questiong is why the guy/gal got the green tub? buying rodents or carrying their own drinks lol..

The people at that show have some of the WORST manners...
But that's besides the point. In colder weather the lines aren't that bad. At least this year I haven't waited more than 10-15 to get it. Once you get in it's a whole other story, but the show is most certainly worth going to.

Re: Hamburg Show Scare !!!
The Hamburg show is one of the best on the East Coast ... all of the vendors are extremely excited about it and there are going to be some great deals to be found!! It's certainly a show that shouldn't be missed.
If nothing else, Brian Barczyk from SnakeBytes.TV and BHB Reptiles will be there ... go to the show to try and cut off his pony tail!!!
As far as the line goes, there's a way to jump to the front of the line and get into the show 30 minutes early on Saturday.
The National Pet Association is giving away free "I Keep Snakes and I Vote" t-shirts with a donation of $20 or more. Anyone wearing one of these shirts the day of the show will be able to walk in (after paying the regular show fee) 30 minutes early and check out what goes on during vendor setup!!! You'll be supporting a great cause and getting to the front of that line quick! The National Pet Association is fighting for the liberty to be able to own pets by keeping the government out of our homes! The donations go to help fund that fight!
Check out the original post about the shirts (and don't worry, if we can't ship the shirt to you in time we'll have them available at the show. Look for us walking up and down that line on Saturday!!):

That's why the line is so long
People were leaving with whatever they may have bought while I stood in line. I thought to myself, mmmm why would you wait so long in line and be in such a hurry to leave?
Well once I was inside I had the answer, holy hell man, I could barley move.
People were nice, considering the heat and lack of air for breathing.
I found what I wanted and got the hell out of there.
