Feeding multiples
I have read that some are feeding multiple mice/rats at what appears to be the same feeding. When do you introduce the second feeder?

Re: Feeding multiples
I'f I'm going to feed two smaller meals typically after the first one is all the way down the hatch.

Re: Feeding multiples
I offer the second once the first one went down, the snake yawned, and they are moving about the enclosure a bit.

Re: Feeding multiples
On the occasions that I had to feed multiples, I would weigh each one to make sure that their combined weight equalled 10% - 15% of the snakes body weight so as to avoid over feeding and a potential regurge...

Re: Feeding multiples
I wait until they have swallowed the first, and are looking around again. Once, b/c the feeders were chewing their way out of the lil cardboard box from PetCo, I threw the second one in while my cinny was swallowing the first. Instead of finishing swallowing, then striking, he struck with the first mouse's tail still sticking out of his mouth Then, b/c the mouse isn't nearly as flexible as his neck, he had a hard time constricting the second mouse. He eventually got it, but it was really strange, and I can't imagine it was very comfortable trying to constrict with a mouse in his throat...

Re: Feeding multiples
Because I have my own feeders I sometimes have to feed a smaller size than I'd really like too. Just depends on what's grown out. Once they have number one down and readjust the jaw they are generally good to go.

Re: Feeding multiples
I usually wait until the first one is all the way down and the snake is moving around looking for the second.
