New Cage Set up Questions
Okay so for a baby should i go ahead and get the 20 or start with a 10 regardless,i have noticed there are two types of zoo med pads a smaller one and a larger one, witch one should i get,So I'm going to have the UTH on the hot side and a night bulb on the cool side running 24/7 another question is about these rheostats/thermometer's the zoo med Zoo Med Laboratories RT-10 Repti Temp Rheostat 72 and the zoo med ReptiTemp 500R witch one is better to use, also do i need one for the light too,or is that covered by one of them witch one is superior and do i only need one?
So basically what im looking at is a 10 or 20,probably 20 two identical hides, water dish, uth on the hot side night bulb 24/7 on the cool,What I'm wondering is what do i need to monitor the temp on them,i believe the reptitemp 500r will control both of them, and would be better overall instead of the rheostat
do i really need a digital thermometer/hydrometer if i use a infra red temp gun and mist regularly
Thank you if i missed anything important please leave detail
Thank you for all the help

Re: New Cage Set up Questions
Get the reptitemp 500r, it is the thermostat. You can hook up the lamp to it as well but if you have a visual lamp the light turning on and off constantly will get annoying. If you use a CHE there shouldn't be a problem.
I would start with the 10g. They can live in a 10g for the first full year of their life, then you can move to a 20g Long. The bigger the enclosure, the more you have to heat, cool, maintain humidity in, and clean. Keep it simple for now.
For monitoring temps, the accurite weather station from walmart, home depot, or lowes will be the only unit you need. It measures internal humidity and temperature and has an external sensor that measures temperature.

Re: New Cage Set up Questions
Its a little bit hard to find online for a good price. I am on my phone right now so its kind of difficult for me to search for one right now. Your best bet is to go to one of those 3 stores and ask where the indoor/outdoor thermometers are.

Looks like this:
http://www.partshelf.com/acu00891.html
I found it at Home Depot for $14, at Walmart for $12. Home Depot had it by the pesticides right by the door to the garden center. Walmart had it by the mailboxes in the hardware department but in Walmart they could be anywhere. YMMV.
2.0 Normal BP (Paradox, Charade)
1.0 Nicaraguan Boa (Enigma)
1.0 Cube Stripe Corn (Ember)
0.1 Motley Sunglow Corn (Phoenix)
0.0.1 Sinaloan Milk (Pastiche)

There are new ones now that look a little different.
