    Re: Heating a tub question

Is it just 1 tub or many? And it's mainly preference. I am using 11" flexwatt cut in half to make it 6'x11" in my 16 qts.
Once I get up to 41 qt tubs I think I will have 11" flexwatt and a foot on each shelf of the rack.

    Re: Heating a tub question

I also have a question about tub temps, and rather than making a new thread I'll just post it in here.

I'm ordering a rack from reptile basics at the end of the month with belly heat. I'm going to order a helix and set it to 94 for the warm side temps, but the room it will be in stays right around 70 (can dip into the upper 60s at night).

Should the heat from the tape be enough to raise the cold side temps?

If it is in the rack, then your temps should be okay. You might need to set the thermostat higher to get the correct hot spot in the tub. The thermostat probe measures the temp right on the flexwatt not in the tub. I set my thermostat at 98* to get a temp of 90-92* inside the tub.

Thats good to hear. Once everything gets here I'm sure I'll make a thread to make sure my setup looks right.
