Re: bad burn
put some neosporin on it and try to keep it moist and the snake hydrated. a vet prolly wouldnt be a bad idea cuz of the infection.

Re: bad burn
Heat lamps are kind of useless with ball pythons. Just use a UTH with a THERMOSTAT and you should have no problems with burns.

Take him to the vet. I just rehabed a snake through a bad burn....and you will need to take him in to get antibiotics. If not, it will likely get infected and cause internal toxicity.
Good luck...snakes are usually pretty good at healing with the proper treatment.

If you are using a tank it's not so easy to keep ambient temps up. Depending where you live and room temp i'm sure alot of tank users need a lamp

But that doesn't mean that is the best option. I would pay for two UTHs or a radiant heat panel before I would use a lamp as a source of heat.

its not that we need a thermostat or uth our power went out and we could only have on light plugged in with our breaker box popping fuses left and right and he rolled while we were heating him up and caught the light!! we have great heat sources other then the light we just need to get help on what to look for like if there is and infection or even so ideas what we can do at home till we can actually get back to our real home!! oh by the way im pombiki's wife!! and the snake means so much to me i just want him to get better!! i love my mornings when he gives kisses and love to cuddle!!

Giving the extent of the burn you need to take your animal to a vet so he can assess the burn and prescribe anti-biotics which can be necessary in the case of a severe burn.
In the mean time clean up your enclosure put some paper towel to replace your current substrate, reduce the stress to a minimum, no feeding and make sure your heat source is secured and controlled.

I agree, Belly heat is the best option and if you cant afford a thermostat you cant afford the snake...... You have a commitment to that animal to do whats best for it.
