So my husband has expressed interest in moving to another country, and he's mostly interested in moving to China. We have a friend moving there at the end of this month. She has decided not to take her cats or her rottweiler with her due to the quarantine procedures there. She says Shana would have to stay in QT for up to 6 months and she says she's not comfortable leaving her in a facility with no guarantee of care. So she's leaving her behind. Now my husband and I have not talked in depth about moving to another country but it is something we are both interested in. I've done some brief searching and have found conflicting information. Some sites say the regulations vary (we'd probably be moving to Beijing if we did move to China) while others say QT is only a month or two and your pet can be QT in your home. It also says that the number of pets you can bring is limited. We have 4 cats, 1 dog, 1 cockatiel, rats, mice (rodents I would have no problem leaving behind), snakes (I would be ok selling the snakes, all but maybe one or two), and 3 ferrets. According to this site. http://china.org.cn/english/MATERIAL/94230.htm, you may only bring one pet per adult passport. And many sites say you can't bring small mammals, birds, or reptiles (though many are saying its not impossible, but very very difficult.)
So any thoughts on this at all?
