    Orange ghosts????

ok I have googled orange ghost and I have not found a lot of information on them. Are they the same as a ghost? Is it a codom trait? What can you mix them with? I would love to see some photos of one. I might be getting one and would like to know. Thanks

    Re: Orange ghosts????

"orange ghost" is just a line of ghost (otherwise known as "hypo"). Different breeders gave their hypos different names depending on the look of them. You'll find hypos called orange ghost, yellow ghost, green ghost etc etc. Most of them are compatible with each other but it's best to know exactly what you're buying.

Orange ghost and other hypos are recessive. They were one of the founding morphs (ie the earliest to be reproduced in captivity) and pretty much everything has been crossed with hypo and it makes fantastic combos. One of my favorite genes.

If you use the forum search function you'll find lots of hypo combos.

Heres our hypo (orange ghost) mojave not the best picture, but you can see what the orange ghost gene can do when added with another fairly 'basic' looking gene like mojave! Hypo is one of the most powerful genes you can have in your collection IMO.

    Re: Orange ghosts????

For the most part, a Ghost is a Ghost. Somewhere along the way, they got divided into catagories consisting of Orange, Yellow, Butterscotch, Green, and maybe a few others. The fact is, with very few exceptions, they all look fairly similar. I have seen butterscotch Ghosts that look more orange than some of the Orange Ghosts I have seen, I have an adult Orange Ghost, and the offspring look Orange, but I would not say they did not have a butterscotch look to them either.

I did have one Ghost that was just brought in as a Ghost, and she looked more green than orange. I think most Ghost lines have proven compatible except the G1 line from Graziani.

The following pics are the two Ghosts I produced in 09. The male was actually more orange than his two daughters.

    Re: Orange ghosts????

Ghost is a sweet morph. I can find much info on them either when using google. They really make combos look good from what I've seen.

I would like to also know what some of the combos are when using ghost. So far i've seen pastel ghost, mojave ghost and spider x ghost.
