    Unhappy Ball python nightmares :(

So, when I got my first ball python, I had a lot of nightmares that it got stepped on, cooked, or escaped. Each time in my dream I would be screaming because I was so upset. Then I would wake up kind of sad and realize what happened in my dream did not happen in real life, which was such a relief.

Last night I had a dream that was pretty realistic though. I had a dream I was checking on my snakes and each one was dead and rotting. The probe for my thermostat had fallen off the heat tape and cooked all my snakes.

For some reason my mom was there and I was crying to her, but she hates my snakes so she was happy they were gone.

Anyway, I woke up and all my snakes are just fine. Needless to say, I was pretty freaked out.

Yea those happen. The worse part is when something like and escape or burn does happen then you wake up at two o'clock in the morning in cold sweat's to check them all for months after.. I had t-stat fail and cause a burn and it really makes you stop and triple check everything.

Aw When I first got mine I had nightmares that they escaped a few times. About a month ago I had a nightmare that one of them got burnt. I wake up the same way, all sad and kinda frantic to go check on them.

Part of my daily routine is taking temps with the temp gun, checking the thermostat probe, and checking the temp reading on the thermostat just in case.

I had the probe move off the heat tape once and I only noticed because all my snakes were at the front of the tub which was very odd to me. Sure enough, the heat tape was a little over 100*. All the snakes were fine, thank the snake gods!

No, I just have very very vivid dreams. I always have to the point where I could describe them in great detail. If I was in a car, I could remember each direction the car turned in order. Its kind of weird actually, haha!

I have dreams all the time that my snakes have escaped their enclosures. I always have to get out of bed and double check that they have not in fact escaped. I often dream of being bitten too!

    Re: Ball python nightmares :(

I had an escape august last year, found the lil yellow belly girl outside 9 days later *Way lucky* and had nightmares for several months and would have to go check on them at all hours of the night

I immediately upgraded my tubs to prevent that from happening again.

    Re: Ball python nightmares :(

I haven't had anything too terrible happen yet, but I was in class the other day and I kept thinking that this finicky heat lamp I have was going to start a fire, and then I kept imagining the snakes all roasting, and my dogs trying to escape, and coming home to a burnt house ... I left class early (it was just math anyways, haha), rushed home, and of course there was no fire, but i just can't help thinking that somethings going to go wrong. Those dreams are the worst.
