    Sound Like a Scam?

I was interesed in a Albino he had for sale. No pictures or anything up just a price and what not. So I emailed him and go this.....
    "Hello,

Thanks for the mail. I have albino,Royal and
    piebald
ball pythons available to go out ,They are hand raised and come with
    all
papers, have been fully checked, captive breed and also tested and have
a good relationship with other pets, vet checked with up to date vet
records. They are ready to go for adoption with free snake box.I am
looking for a good home and will meet up any requirements if need to be
shipped.Their weights are 400g and 430g and each are a little over 2ft.
long even though i do have some which are less than this and they will
    all come
with a cites permit. They will be going out for free and will come
along in a free box and all you need to pay is the cost of
transportation to your area . I am giving them
for adoption because i am here for an assignment and my job requires a
lot of time so i immediately realized that they are going to be lonely
and as you know they are very delicate creatures and need a lot of care
and devotion that is why i decided to give them out to any loving and
caring home where they will be loved and given all the time
they need, so if you are interested get back lets see how they get
home.I wish to know where are you located and How soon do you want the
    snakes?, how
many do you need? and if needs to be shipped, then get back to me with
    your full
delivery address and the name of the closest airport to your location
    so that
i could get in touch with any Delivery Service around the neighbourhood
    for flight
reservation.I am just looking for any reptiles lover who will take good
care of my pythons. They are well trained, easy to handle. come along
with all accessories and will be able to go to anybody willing to take
good care of them. They are great eaters and eat regular, they eat
well and feed on frozen food. They will be ready to live with any
reptile lover willing to take good care of them, their parents were
very healthy as they are and will make a loving home.Below are pictures
of my pythons so immediately get back
to me as soon as possible so that we could proceed. Cordially"

Here is the pic of the snake:

I would LOVE to adopt the albino and willing to pay shipping. But is it legit? Who gives away snakes????

ALSO I sent him an email that told him just to make sure it's not a scam to send me a picture or 2 of the snake that he has in possession with a sheet of paper next to the snake with his name and location on the paper hand written and we would go from there.

Well trained too? I didn't know we trained them?

Yes, of course it's a scam - he's likely in Cameroon or other similar African country. Ask him how much this shipping is.

    SCAM!!

This is a no brainer, guys. Read the reply carefully. He says he has Albino, Pied and Royal? Balls are Royal pythons, that isn't a color. He provides two weights, then asks how many snakes you need? Say What?

Then he says they are free except for shipping? Shipping from where? Who the heck is going to GIVE away a Pied for crying out loud?!

Has job takes up a lot of time and he thinks they will be lonely? They are delicate and take a lot of care? Oh, really? Feeding once a week and cleaning poop for 5 minutes every few days is too much time?

He does not say where he is, or where the snakes are?

This is like the ads I see all the time for people selling fertile python eggs for shipping costs, it is FAKE.

Please don't let yourself get sucked in to this, it's bad news.

    Re: Sound Like a Scam?

100% SCAM. what you should do , is ask where exactly he's located, wait for him to respond ,and then tell him you've got a family member that lives nearby and that they'll pick up the snake and ship it for you since they work for a shipping company and can ship for free. Then you'll start to see the BS that will start to flow from him.

The best way to deal with guys like this is to waste as much of his time as possible , keep him going for months , if possible. The more time he spends trying to bait you , and not get anything , just helps others out. And , maybe will make him think its not worth the effort to try to scam people in relation to the amount of time he's put into it.

Maybe he will give you the snakes if you help him transfer $9 million that belonged to his uncle who was the president of the Bank of Nigeria...

    Re: Sound Like a Scam?

I have gone through this before, and yes I kept it up for a couple months. They said that the shipping company was based out of Cameroon! Haha. They were even going to let me only pay $50 of the shipping. Eventually I said that I had a family member in the military in Cameroon that lived near there. Suddenly the guy was backing out and accusing me of lying and being a bad home for the snakes. They were also pieds, male and female.

I think the best thing that you can do for other people is, NEVER TELL THE SCAMMER WHY YOU KNOW IT IS A SCAM, even if it would feel SO good to tell them how easy it was to figure it out. You don't want them getting better at this stuff and tricking more people.

But my goodness is it fun to mess with them. The guy said that he could not even give them away in the UK, where he was 'posted for the military', because "people don't like snakes here, they just like dogs". HAHAhaha.
