Had to give up my German Shep Today ='{
i had him for a month but mom wouldnt let me keep duke because he terrorizes my little sister, we had a bond that was unmatched by any of my previous canine friends =[ when i took him to the shelter today he was scared and snapped at one of the keepers. they said if he doesnt calm down they have to put him to sleep.. man this is heartbreaking

So sorry that you had to give up your dog. He is very beautiful. I love German Shepherds.

Could you have put an ad in the paper for him?
I hate seeing animals go to the shelter.
Sorry you had to part with him.

Surely there has to be a better solution then bringing him to the shelter! It sounds like he will be put to sleep, thats a horrible fate for such a beautiful dog that is clearly loved by you.
Is he neutered?
Have you tried a behaviorist?
GSDs can be territorial, but I do believe the vast majority of behavioral problems in dogs can be resolved.....with changes on the owner's part.
I hope for your sake, and your beloved dog- that he is not euthanized! Please keep us updated....and let us know if you need any help. I know of a few great GSD rescues that may be able to help. They might even be willing to speak to your mom.

You may not be religious and I hope this doesnt offend you , but the fate of your beautiful dog ( mine is german shepard/rotwiler/austrailian shepard and blue heeler mix, but mostly the first two) will be in my prayers and rites.

He is so beautiful....I wish that I was closer to you. So what was the problem.......was he biting your sister? Did you have him since he was a puppy?
