    heat

how can i heat a 125 gallon tank for my bci? i currently have a heat pad set to 92 hot spot and the humidity is 55 but i cant figure out how to raise ambient temps above 76. my top is all glass with air slats so bulbs are out unless i can get one inside the tank with some sort of burn guard. let me know what i might be able to do and thanks...

    Re: heat

found a great way to take care of all my heating problem for my boa. i have a 125 gallon glass tank on an oak stand so i put a ceramic heat emitter under the tank on one side inside the stand with a rheostat pointing up creating a 90 basking spot and the heat trapped within the stand has raised my ambient temps inside the tank to 80. humidity is at 55. life is good now

    Re: heat

so you have the CHE heating up the bottom of your tank like a hotplate on a dimmer switch, sounds like trouble. Personally since I have mine in a 4feet by 3 feet enclosure I have the flexwatt for the bellyheat and I Have a infrared heat bulb on a rheostat to heat the ambient temperature as I cannot for the life of me get the room where he is hot enough without costing me a fortune in the winter.

Its like that but i get it at the home improvement place where they sell bulbs Its like a 220watt for your size with the dimmer.

and for humidity I just mist and provide a moist hide during shedding time, right now the humidity is about 65 though.
