    flexwatt problem

Hi, I am having a problem with one of my panels of flexwatt. It is foot long section. I just wired it up yesterday then glued it to the rack like I have done all my others. I hadn't wired up this shelf before recent because I didn't have anything to put in it. Anyways I have them all in a parallel line hooked up to a dimmer. The previous bottom one seemed like it wasn't getting as hot as the other 5 i had so I wired it to its own cord and dimmer and then it was fine and maintained the temperatures. So I decided since it might have been a juice problem to wire the new panel in with the bottom one and keep them on a separate dimmer. So I have 5 on one dimmer that works fine and now two on another. Well the original one is fine temperature wise but now the new one is staying about 10 degrees cooler then the other on the circuit any suggestions?

I have so far rewired the bottom one 3 times and even switched the flipped the parallel lines to see if maybe that would help but so far no go?

    Re: flexwatt problem

As long as they're the same type of flexwatt, they should heat about the same. The only thing that is going to prevent them from working properly is a high resistant connection somewhere in the circuit. Make sure all of the connections are nice and tight. If you have a meter, hook up the leads from the meter to each of the cord's prongs. Measure the resistance in the troubled circuit, then measure a known good flexwatt system to see what the resistance is. Both should be realtively close to the same measurement. If not, check all of your connections again until you find the high resistant conncetion. I guess you could have a bad piece of flexwatt too, so check that too.

    Good Luck!

    Re: flexwatt problem

Is the bottom of the rack directly on the floor? I know mine use to be like that and I had HUGE temp differences. Also what kind of Glue are you using never thought of glueing them ?
