    I'm Excited..First Lock!!

I paired my Female Spider and Pastel Male last night. They pretty much were feeling each other out. THe female wagged her tail a bit, but I didn't see a lock. I came home twice today and saw this......

    First time around noon

Then this just a few minutes ago.....

It's an exciting thing to see. Any tips on future pairing sessions? How many more times should I get these 2 together? Also I notice that they don't stay locked for too long. How long is a normal locking session last? Thanks.

Also since they have locked up two times in 24 hours (although not a long time) should I remove the male so he can rest?

Like Robin said leave the male in until they separate, and let them rest for 3 days. Keep pairing them until she rejects him. 3 days on 3 days off.

    Congrats

I believe the average lock is 4-24 hours.

I separated them and offered food. My female had a quick feed response. Normally I dangle the rat to get her attention then just drop it in there and she casually takes her time. This time, she went for the rat right off the tongs. I was happy to see them both eat. I'll pair them up in a few.
