What kind of greens are you feeding the beardie? Our beardie loves arugala and spring mix ( but he wont eat the purple leafs ) and sometimes he gets spinach, he likes sweet potato also. As for getting them to take the greens, if you dust your crickets, maybe try dusting the greens a lil.. our guy likes greens and we never had a problem with him eatin them.. good luck and if ya find a trick that works let me know..

    Cheers

I start my beardies on mustard greens. They are pretty cheap and easy to find sometimes wal mart will even have them. Give it to them in the morning before any other feeders and if there hungry they will get the hang of eating there salad first.

Heres a good list of greens and nutrition content.

    Re: Green Eating trick Suggestions..?

I start my beardies right away as babies on greens so they are used to them. Unfortunately older beardies that have not been feed greens maynot be interested. Its easy when you have a clutch of babies because there are always a few that jump right in and munchem down and then the others watch and decide to join in, monkey see, monkey do.

What I have done with older ones is put greens in a plastic dish and then put a couple of mealworms in there with them. The worms will wiggle around in the greens moving them and getting their attention. Beardies are always more interested in moving crawly things. They will go for the worms and eat some greens in the process, once they get a taste for greens and realize it is food they will begin to eat them more readily. This wont happen after 1 or 2 attempts but eventually they will get the idea and then they will recognize the greens as a food source. Dont put too many worms in there or they will be able to pick out just the worms, you want them to hunt around for them eating greens accidentally at first. Worms love greens so they will be eating and holding on to them.

    Hope this helps.

I have always just dabbed some greens in a jar of baby food, something fruity or orange and that will usually get them hooked.
